Biography of William Adams
William Adams was born in London February 1, 1820, the son of a surgeon. He studied at the King's College, and in 1842 became prosector of pathology at St. Thomas' Hospital. In 1854 he was made associate professor of surgery at the Grosvenor Olace Medical School, in 1855 Surgeon at Great Northern, and in 1874 at the National Hospital for the Paralysed and the Epileptic (later renamed into The National Hospital for Nurological Disease, Queen's Square). He was president and vice president of several London Societies. His work on club-foot was awarded the Jackson Priz of the Royal College of Surgeons.
A large part of his work appeared in the Transactions of the Pathological and Medical Society.
