Biography of James Adams
James Adams, the son of a physician, obtained his doctorate at Aberdeen in 1849. He practiced gynecology in Glasgow. He introduced the operation for retroflexio (retroversio) uteri at the same time as the English surgeon William Alexander (1844-1919).
