Biography of Max Levine
Born in Poland, Max Levine came to the United States as a child. He studied at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and in 1922 became Ph.D. of bacteriology at the State University of Iowa. He became research assistant at his alma mater in 1912, instructor in 1913, 1914 assistant professor, 1919 associate professor, and 1924 professor of bacteriology at Iowa State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts.
