Biography of Kåre Ingmar Berg
Kåre Berg graduated in medicine from the University of Oslo in 1957. After his internships he worked in the internal department of the Lovisenberg sykehus. He obtained his medical doctorate at Oslo in 1964 and in 1968 he became a licensed specialist in immunology and immunohaematology. In 1971, when this specialism was introduced in Norway, he became a licensed specialist in medical genetics From 1964 to 1967 Kåre berg was a research assistant at Rockefeller University, New York. In 1967 he was appointed professor of medicine at the University of Oslo.
Kåre Bergs 12 page CV lists a large number of honours. He has been on more than 50 scientific and professional boards and he is a member of several national and foreign professional societies. Berg has been a frequent guest lecturer at universities in Europe and the USA, and has given more than a hundred lectures at international scientific meetings and congresses.
