Biography of Edgar Van Nuys Allen

Edgar Van Nuys Allen was professor of medicine at the Mayo clinic. A cardiovascular expert, he edited one of the first comprehensive textbooks on peripheral vascular disease. In 1960 he was co-recipient of the Albert Lasker Award for confirming laboratory studies with dicumerol. In 1941 he published a report on the administration of this anti-coagulant to human beings.
