Biography of Louis Fischer
Louis Fischer studied at the Bellevue Hospital and University Medical College in New York as well as in New York, becoming doctor of medicine in 1884. He was subsequently active as a paediatrician at the Sydenham Hospital, New York, attending physician at the Willard Parker Hospital and Riverside Hospital, as well as consulting paediatrician at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Montclair. From 1895 to 1903 he was assistant professor of paediatrics at the Post Graduate Medical School and Hospital, New York, becoming medical director of the Infantorium and the Heck Foundation of the City of New York.
