Biography of Edward B. Singleton
Edward B. Singleton is Professor of Radiology at the University of Texas Medical School. He obtained his M.D. from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his residency in 1951 at Michigan. In 1953 he was appointed Chief of the Radiology Department at Texas Children’s Hospital. He became a Professor of Radiology at UT Houston in 1973 and at Baylor in 1979. he has also been Chief of Radiology at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital. Singleton has received numerous teaching awardsand is a prominent member of the Society of Gastrointestinal Radiologists.
The Singleton-Taybi Award is given in honor of Edward Singleton and Hooshang Taybi in recognition of their personal commitment to the educational goals of the Society for Pediatric Radiology. Initiated in 2006, the Award is presented annually to a senior member of the SPR whose professional lifetime dedication to the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and colleagues has brought honor to him/her and to the discipline of pediatric radiology.
