Biography of Juan Rosai
Juan Rosai is an internationally renowned expert and consultant in surgical pathology. He received his M.D. from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and completed his pathology residency at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. He is currently Professor of Pathology at the Cornell University Medical School in New York, and Chairman of the Pathology Department, National Cancer Institute (Instituto Nazionale Tumori), Milan, Italy. From 1991 to 1999, he was James Ewing Alumni Professor and Chairman of Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Professor of Pathology and Director of Anatomic Pathology at the Yale University School of Medicine. He has also served as Attending Pathologist at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Third Series Atlas of Tumor Pathology and of The International Journal of Surgical Pathology. e has published over 250 articles in addition to book chapters. He is the author of Ackerman’s Surgical Pathology, a classical textbook in pathology now in its ninth edition. It was first published by Lauren Vedder Ackerman (born 1905).
