Biography of Paul Frangenheim

Paul Frangenheim studied in Bonn and Berlin, receiving his doctorate at Berlin in 1903. He then turned to surgery and was habilitated for this discipline in Königsberg in 1908. In 1911 he moved on to Leipzig, and in 1913 to Köln, where he became ordinarius of surgery and director of the university clinic in the Augusta Hospital in 1919. He died of an infection in Köln in 1930.

Frangenheim's main field of scientific work was diseases of the bones. He also distinguished himself in urological surgery.
