Biography of Robert B. Daroff
Robert B. Daroff, M.D., is Interim Vice Dean for Education and Academic Affairs, and Professor of Neurology, at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He was Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at University Hospitals of Cleveland from 1994 to 2003. Prior to that, he was Gilbert W. Humphrey Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurology at CWRU, and Director of Neurology at UHC, positions he had held since 1980.
Dr. Daroff did his undergraduate training at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Pennsylvanian in his senior year. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1961, interned at Philadelphia General Hospital, and trained in Neurology at Yale, and Neuro-Ophthalmology at UCSF.
He was on the faculty of the Departments of Neurology and Ophthalmology at the University of Miami from 1968 to 1980.
Dr. Daroff has held, and holds, many national and international positions in his specialty, including, among others: President of the American Neurological Association; President of the American Headache Society; Chair of the Medical/Scientific Advisory Board of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America; and Editor-in-Chief of NEUROLOGY.
