Biography of Hans Haenel
Hans Haenel studied in Freiburg im Breisgau and received his doctorate there in 1896. He then entered service as a military physician. In 1912 he was appointed member of the Reichsgesundheitsamt, and in 1913 he became professor and director of the Institut für Hygiene und Infektionskrankheiten in Saarbrücken. In 1915 he became director of the bacteriological department of the Reichsgesundheitsamt. He worked, among other things, on the cure of trypanosomiais with Bayer 205 (Germanin).
