    Biography of Robert M. Blizzard

    Robert M. Blizzard was a professor at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. There  he served as director of the Children’s Medican Center and director of the Clinical Research Center. At the Johns Hopkins Hospital he was co-director of paediatric endocrinology and chair of paediatrics. Blizzard retired from the University of Virginia in 1994.

     
    The Robert M. Blizzard Professorship in Pediatric Endocrinology Fund was created by friends, colleagues and former trainees to honour the former chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia. He was a founding member of the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society.

    Blizzard was the founder (1984), and for many years the editor of, the journal Growth, Genetics  and Hormones.
