Biography of Mette Warburg
After graduating from the University of Copenhagen in 1952, Mette Warburg trained in ophthalmology and in 1966 became a certified. She has held appointments as eye surgeon and professor of ophthalmology at the University of Århus. One of her research interests has been the aetiology of blindness in mental retarded individuals, and in 1989 she became head of the ophthalmological service for persons with multiple handicaps at the Gentofte Hospital Medical School. She has been a popular lecturer and has published more than 140 articles.
