Bronchogenic carcinoma associated with primary degeneration of the dorsal root ganglion cells with primary degeneration of the muscles.

Many neurologic syndromes (seldom in the pure form; usually in variable combinations) occur in patients with neoplastic diseases: peripheral neuropathies, radiculopathies, posterior root degeneration, radiculopathies, posterior root degeneration, myelopathies, cerebellar degeneration, and dementia. These symptoms can cause disability that is out of proportion to the neoplastic condition and thus dominates the clinical aspect. In addition, neuromuscular involvement may precede the discovery of tumour. Aetiology unknown.
