Heimann-Bielschowsky phenomenon is a feature peculiar to dissociated vertical deviation. In unilateral impairment of vision, if illumination of the fixating eye is progressively decreased, the dissociated eye rotates downward with no change in the position of the fixating eye. Jerk nystagmus. The phenomenon is sometimes seen in squint.
