The characteristic symptoms of this congenital syndrome are pulsations in the neck and precordial movements, especially when lying on left side. Features include bounding water-hammer pulse, capillary pulsation, head chocks, left ventricular pulsation, holosystolic and early diastolic murmurs. Congenital heart defect. Good general development and normal health during first years of life. Onset of symptoms in childhood, between 2 and 10 years of age. Male-to-female ratio 2 : 1. Eventually, chest pain, diaphoresis, and sudden death. Laubry and Pezzi in 1921 described ventricular septal defect with aortic insufficiency due to a prolapsed aortic cusp.
